Job summary

University of Georgia in Athens is seeking a Supervision Coordinator for the Elementary program within the Department of Educational Theory and Practice (ETAP). This limited-term, 0.475 FTE position supports onboarding, assignment, support, and evaluation of university supervisors and maintains compliance with ETAP, COE, and GAPSC guidance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and support academic and supervision-related programs in alignment with ETAP and Elementary program goals.
  • Develop and maintain program calendars, timelines, and documentation to ensure consistent implementation.
  • Create and manage program materials, procedures, and guidance for university supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor program performance, assess outcomes, and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness and consistency.
  • Utilize CRM systems, SmartSheets, or other platforms to organize data, track participation, and facilitate communication and outreach.
  • Collaborate with the ETAP Department Head, Elementary Program Coordinator, and COE Office of Clinical Practice to onboard qualified university supervisors in accordance with guidance.
  • Assign, support, and evaluate university supervisor roles and responsibilities, including doctoral students and part-time supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of university supervisor and teacher candidate pairings.
  • Meet regularly with supervisors to discuss candidate progress, site-specific needs, feedback practices, and supervision structures.
  • Provide ongoing formative feedback to support supervisors’ professional growth.
  • Monitor supervision documentation and Candidate Support Team records within SmartSheets to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Ensure supervisors have active systems to distribute, collect, and retain required permission and consent forms.
  • Support and maintain supervisor documentation of observations using approved platforms and tools.
  • Communicate and support implementation of COE video and observation policies (e.g., GoReact).
  • Ensure supervisors consistently use required systems and processes.
  • Monitor logs and system usage to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners, such as OCP, to coordinate supports like resources, readings, speakers, or professional learning opportunities.
  • Conduct site visits and observations to support placements and build relationships that inform future collaborations.
  • Support community and partner engagement related to supervision and clinical practice.
  • Assist in identifying and selecting the Outstanding University Supervisor for annual recognition.
  • Support special events or initiatives that highlight program success and strengthen community and institutional partnerships.

Job description

Position Summary

The Supervision Coordinator supports and coordinates the Elementary program in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice (ETAP) with an emphasis on university supervision and clinical practice. They ensure effective onboarding, assignment, support, and evaluation of university supervisors while maintaining compliance with ETAP, COE, and GAPSC guidance. The coordinator manages program documentation, systems, and partnerships to support high-quality supervision experiences for teacher candidates.

Term: July 1 2026 – June 30 2027 (limited-term, extendable upon funding)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of professional experience
Responsibilities

Additional Information

Part‑time, 0.475 FTE; 19 hours per week.

Commencing September 1 2026. Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits: None.
