Job summary

SBH Health System seeks an experienced Outpatient Pharmacy Manager to lead clinical and operational activities, review medications for appropriateness, supervise staff, and ensure policy compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Job description

This position is accountable for those outpatient pharmacy services which require pharmaceutical education and state licensure; leadership experience and extensive clinical and professional judgment. Outpatient pharmacy manager review medication orders for appropriateness, fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, and supervise and direct support personnel. These duties are performed according to departmental policies and procedures, and as scheduled by the supervisory staff.

Requirements

Education

To qualify a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is required.

Licensing/Certifications

New York State Pharmacist License and current registration required

Experience

Previous institutional retail experience helpful, but not required. On-the-job training after employment is necessary. Five years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacist desirable. Minimum typing skills of at least 45 words per minute. Computer skills.
