Job summary

St. Barnabas is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Manager with strong clinical judgment to supervise daily pharmacy operations. You will review orders, fill medications, monitor therapies, and provide drug information to staff and patients.

Qualified candidates hold a NYS Pharmacist License and a PharmD or BS Pharmacy, with experience in institutional retail or outpatient settings. Strong typing and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

Job description

This position is accountable for those outpatient pharmacy services which require pharmaceutical education and state licensure; leadership experience and extensive clinical and professional judgment. Outpatient pharmacy manager review medication orders for appropriateness, fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, and supervise and direct support personnel. These duties are performed according to departmental policies and procedures, and as scheduled by the supervisory staff.

Education:

To qualify a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is required.

Licensing/Certifications:

New York State Pharmacist License and current registration required

Experience:

Previous institutional retail experience helpful, but not required. On-the-job training after employment is necessary. Five years' experience as a Registered Pharmacist desirable. Minimum typing skills of at least 45 words per minute. Computer skills.
