Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Superintendent to lead field supervision on water facilities projects. You will guide craft workers, ensure alignment with drawings and schedules, and work with field engineering and subcontractors to deliver safe, high-quality results.

Travel across the U.S. is expected, with current projects in New Mexico and Texas. You will participate in planning, coordination, and documentation to support project delivery and community impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction with at least 3 years supervising piping operations.
• Experience managing trench excavating and excavation plans.
• Experience with underground pipe and existing utilities.
• Knowledge of union regulations, safety, scheduling, cost control, and engineering docs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; self-motivated and detail oriented.

• Provide comprehensive supervisory direction to craft workers through general foremen and foremen, ensuring safety, productivity, quality and schedules.
• Act as liaison between field engineering and craft, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with fellow superintendents and subcontractors for project execution.
• Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances, notifying management as needed.
• Assist in strategic schedule planning and resource allocation for craft labor and materials.
• Uphold safety protocols and company policies across the project.

Position Overview

As a Superintendent, you will be exposed to a variety of field activities in order to develop your understanding of construction supervision. During your first few years you can expect to spend time learning and working on shop drawings, submittals, schedules, craft supervision, and project documentation. While learning these things you will have the opportunity to travel the country building complex projects that make a profound impact on communities.

Location

This position could span anywhere in the United States, but current projects are in New Mexico and mainly Texas locations. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive supervisory direction to craft workers through general foremen and foremen, ensuring effective management of productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.

• Act as a liaison between field engineering and craft, guaranteeing compliance with construction drawings and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate effectively with fellow superintendents and subcontractors, ensuring seamless communication and project execution with Kiewit staff and leadership.

• Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances, notifying project and corporate management as necessary.

• Assist in strategic schedule planning and resource allocation, determining craft labor levels and material requirements for optimal project performance.

• Uphold and enforce project rules and safety protocols consistently, ensuring compliance with workplace standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity managing piping operations.

• Demonstrated experience with managing trench excavating and excavating plans.

• Experience with underground pipe with existing utilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines, including union regulations, safety protocols, scheduling, cost control, and engineering documentation.

• Proven ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance effectively, fostering a culture of excellence.
