Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Structural Superintendent for our Field Supervision department to lead civil construction on infrastructure and water projects. You will oversee scheduling, supervision of crews, cost control, and safety, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical knowledge of civil disciplines, and the ability to coordinate with clients and subcontractors across multiple sites with relocation support and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a superintendent/leadership role.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and drawings.
• Ability to learn Kiewit's policies and software programs.
• Strong leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration experience.
• Ability to access all areas on a construction project site.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all civil activities on assigned projects.
• Supervise and mentor civil crews, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials, and approve monthly job cost updates.
• Identify and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular project updates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
• Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management)
• Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff through performance evaluations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/leadership capacity
• Associated or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
• Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures and software programs.
• Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
• Ability to access all areas on a construction project site

Base Compensation: $125,000/yr - $135,000/yr
