Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Concrete Structures Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil projects in the Southeast, including hurricane repair and bridge work. You will supervise crews, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, and drive schedule execution.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in civil/structural construction, with supervisory experience and the ability to travel and relocate for projects across the Southeast. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/structural construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience on bridges/roads; ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Experience in concrete and structural steel bridge work.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily field activities, including scheduling, workforce allocation, and equipment management.
• Enforce Zero Harm safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor progress, quality, and productivity; implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Manage material deliveries and maintain inventory to prevent delays.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports and timecards.
• Mentor and develop field staff to build a strong, capable team.

Position Overview

The Concrete Structures Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising all field operations on heavy civil/structural projects such as a large-scale hurricane repair job to include pedestrian trail reconstruction, bridges, drainage etc. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and schedules. The Structural Superintendent serves as the primary leader in the field, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and resources to deliver high-quality results while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

District Overview

Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/structural construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

• Has experience working on mountainous terrain.

• Must have experience working on bridges,roads or related.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to travel and relocate based on project needs.

• Experience in concrete and structural steel bridge experience

• Ability to develop and/or review crane pick plans
