Southeast Local Schools Superintendent Job Posting Anticipated to begin in the 2027-2028 School year

The Southeast Local Schools Board of Education is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Superintendent. Located in rural Portage County, Ohio, our district serves approximately 1,350 students and 200 dedicated staff members.

The incoming leader will drive the continuous improvement framework detailed in the Southeast Local Schools Shared Vision 20252028.

  • District Vision: Empowering students to become successful, responsible citizens and lifelong learners through educational excellence and community partnership.
  • District Mission: To guarantee all students an excellent education while developing the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for lifelong success.

Five Strategic Goal Areas & Responsibilities

The Superintendent will execute a cohesive strategic plan that integrates feedback from the Board, focus groups, One Plan, Local Literacy Plan, Mathematics initiatives, and professional development priorities through 2028.

  • Academic Anchors: Excellence and Innovation: Leverage the One Plan, Local Literacy Plan, and Mathematics initiatives to drive innovative classroom instruction and build teacher capacity.
  • Beyond the Horizon: Career and College Pathway: Guide curriculum frameworks that equip all students with dynamic workforce readiness and digital competencies required for lifelong success.
  • The Pirate Family: Partnerships for Success: Galvanize a robust community partnership framework unifying families, local businesses, and staff under a shared Pirate identity.
  • Safe Harbors: Secure and Modern Schools: Oversee capital improvements and resource allocations to provide safe, modern, and highly secure learning infrastructure.
  • Treasure the Future: Smart and Sustainable Finances: Collaborate transparently with the Treasurer to manage resources responsibly, establishing long-range fiscal modeling to prevent structural deficits.

Position Qualifications & Compensation

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications, accompanied by a competitive benefits package. Preferred experience in central office school administration.
  • Licensure: Valid Ohio Superintendent license (or immediate eligibility through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce).
  • Education & Experience: Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership or related curriculum. Demonstrated success by executing multi-stakeholder strategic plans in a rural academic setting is highly preferred.
