Job summary

Guardian Roofing, Gutters, & Insulation is seeking a challenge-oriented Field Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations in the Portland area. You will lead roofing crews, coordinate material staging, ensure safety and quality, and maintain client relationships while meeting deadlines.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in similar roles, strong communication and financial skills, and the ability to work on roofs up to 40 ft. A bilingual Spanish preference is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for multiple crews in Portland area.
• Maintain materials and supplies to support crews and jobsites.
• Improve site efficiency and manage costs.
• Schedule with sales and management, assign material staging.
• Lead foremen, train crews in roofing installations.
• Address client questions and schedule crew resources.
• Ensure safety, track progress, inspections, and quality.
• Communicate progress, performance, and client success to leadership.
• Attend pre-roofing meetings onsite or virtual.
• Maintain site records, daily reports, weather and delay notes.
• Monitor progress and control costs; manage installation quality.
• Support Production Manager with materials, schedule, and costs.
• Prepare estimates for minor changes; assist estimators for major changes.
• Attend daily team meetings and weekly scheduling.
• Build and maintain a strong field team to deliver a superior client experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Guardian is an established and rapidly growing Roofing & Gutter company and needs a challenge-oriented, result oriented, take-charge field superintendent who can bring experience, skills and business acumen to manage our day to day field operations in the Portland area. In order to succeed as our Superintendent, you must thrive on working in a team environment to handle multiple projects and people to meet critical deadlines to achieve 100% client loyalty. You must enjoy learning and implementing new systems to improve the existing operations and be a high energy individual with a proven track record in managing construction crews.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a great experience to our clients that will make them loyal towards our company.
• Overseeing daily job site operations, including maintaining adequate materials and supplies for multiple crews.
• Improving job site efficiency and cost containment.
• Scheduling in co-ordination with sales and management including designating material staging areas.
• Overseeing site foremen and ensuring they follow policy, as well as overseeing and training of individuals in roofing system installations.
• Responding to questions of clients, site foremen, management and including crew personnel scheduling and issues.
• Responsible for safety, work in progress and final inspections.
• Maintaining communication with Owner/management about important issues related to job progress, employee performance, or client success.
• Attend pre-roofing meetings onsite or virtually before roofing work begins.
• Maintain job site records, daily OPM reports, delay requests and weather reports as required
• Monitor job progress and control costs.
• Manage job costs and installation quality.
• Provide support to Production Manager as required for materials, schedule, and cost information.
• Prepare estimates for minor change orders. Provide information/support to estimators for major change orders.
• Attend Daily Department Team meetings; and Weekly Scheduling meetings.
• Build and maintain a great field worker team to deliver a superior experience to our clients.

Requirements

• Familiarity with multiple types of roofing installation and manufacturers – BUR, Modified Bitumen Membrane (SBS, APP, peel and stick – hot, cold and torch), Single-Ply (EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.), IRMA, Metal Roof Systems, Sheet Metal Trim, and Steep Slope Shingles.
• Coordinate daily work with multiple crews.
• 3-5 years proven experience as a Superintendent, or similar role managing production operations and people.
• Excellent communication skills. Able to build strong trust level with clients and provide a great experience before, during and after the project.
• Excellent time management & organization skills.
• Business and financial knowledge.
• Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
• Must be able to climb a ladder
• Must be able to be on roofs, sometimes up to 40 ft tall
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. at times
