Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a visionary superintendent to oversee all operations of a small K-12 district serving about 175 students. The district employs 24 teachers, 13 support staff, and 1 principal.

The successful candidate will lead with integrity and engage diverse stakeholders across the community. Salary will be negotiated with the final candidate; the base pay range is $110,000–$130,000.

Job description

The superintendent will oversee all operations of a K-12 grade unit school district serving approximately 175 students. The district employs 24 teachers, 13 support staff, and 1 principal.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Be a visionary leader with high expectations and successful administrative experience who exhibits fairness, honesty, and integrity.
• Possess strong working knowledge of community relations, program evaluation, finance, school law, collective bargaining, personnel recruitment, selection, and retention.
• Understand the total needs of all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds pertaining to students, parents, educators, and support staff.
• Value relationships as the foundation of the district—both internal and external—and successfully communicate and engage with all stakeholders.

Salary/Benefits

A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package will be negotiated with the final candidate. The base pay range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000.

Additional Notes

Applicants must be eligible to serve as a superintendent in the State of Illinois by July 1, 2027.
