Job summary

Sekisui House U.S., Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support on-site residential construction activities, working under supervision across Corvallis and Salem communities.

The role emphasizes learning and developing construction management skills while coordinating with superintendents, trades, and internal teams. Overview & Position Summary

This role supports the execution of residential construction activities by assisting with day-to-day field operations under direct supervision. The position contributes to schedule, quality, and safety objectives while gaining foundational experience in homebuilding processes and site management. The role works closely with superintendents, trade partners, and internal teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with plans and standards. Emphasis is placed on learning, skill development, and building core construction management capabilities.

*Candidates will need to have reliable transportation and willingness to move between communities in Corvallis and Salem, Oregon. Local applicants are given preference. No relocation assistance offered.*

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute daily residential construction activities for assigned homes in accordance with established schedules, plans, and company quality standards.
• Coordinate trade partner activities and verify completion of work in accordance with approved scopes and timelines.
• Perform routine inspections and report quality, safety, or plan deviations to the supervisor.
• Monitor jobsite safety and cleanliness and support enforcement of OSHA and company safety programs.
• Assist with scheduling and supporting municipal inspections and permit-related activities.
• Participate in homeowner orientations and walk-throughs, escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate jobsite documentation, schedules, and inspection records as directed.
• Support team workflow by identifying issues and assisting with corrective actions.
• Provide mentorship and training to Assistant Superintendents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Up to 1 year of relevant residential construction or field management experience at a Superintendent level.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; or 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience managing multiple homes or production schedules simultaneously.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily based in active residential construction sites with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and dust. Some office or trailer-based work may be required for documentation and coordination. Local travel between assigned job sites and communities is expected.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on construction sites
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to bend, kneel, and reach during inspections
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Ability to visually inspect construction work and site conditions

Compensation

• Base Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
• FLSA Status: Exempt
• Bonus Type: Quarterly Production
