Job summary

Joeris General Contractors LLC in Houston seeks an experienced on-site Construction Manager to coordinate all trades, supervise field teams, and drive preconstruction activities for large commercial projects.

The role requires 7+ years of commercial construction experience (CMAR +), Texas familiarity with higher education/K-12/healthcare projects, and travel as needed. OSHA 30 preferred; strong leadership and safety focus essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience supervising multiple commercial projects required; CMAR familiarity a plus.
• 7 years of relevant experience in commercial construction; 10+ years preferred.
• Projects sized +$50M (CMAR) experience preferred.
• Familiarity with preconstruction for CM at Risk contracts.
• Experience on higher education, K-12, and healthcare projects in Texas preferred.
• Some college with drafting/CAD experience is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site trades and Joeris employees for the project.
• Manage preconstruction process alongside preconstruction team.
• Support proposal interview strategies with marketing/preconstruction teams.
• Oversee daily jobsite activities for a single project.
• Implement jobsite safety programs and reporting.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries.
• Ensure safety and project housekeeping compliance.
• Report accidents to Safety Team promptly.
• Communicate labor/material needs to Senior Superintendent/PM.
• Maintain daily time records and cost centers for employees.
• Code materials to proper cost centers; maintain project reports.
• Review shop drawings for contract conformance and dimensions.
• Maintain record set drawings and progress photos.
• Coordinate inspections and temporary utilities requests.
• Attend jobsite meetings and complete punch lists.
• Turn over keys with written owner receipt.
• Review project costs weekly and ensure quality control.
• Maintain tools/equipment; mentor Assistant Superintendents and APMs.
• Support project team training and development.

Overview

Reports to: Senior Superintendent or Senior Project Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Normal Working Hours – Field: 7 am to 3:30 pm, or Office: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, plus additional hours as required for completing project duties

Position Objective: Responsible for on-site coordination of all trades and Joeris employees for construction of the project.

Responsibilities

• Manage and drive the preconstruction process along side the preconstruction team
• Assist in the development of proposal interview strategy and execution with the marketing and preconstruction teams.
• Daily jobsite activities for a single project
• Jobsite safety programs and reporting
• Scheduling and coordination of Subcontractors and material deliveries
• Ensuring employee safety and project housekeeping
• Reporting accidents of any type to the Safety Team in a timely manner
• Notifying the Senior Superintendent and Project Manager of labor and material needs
• Keeping daily time records and accurate cost centers for each employee
• Coding materials to proper cost centers
• Creating and maintaining daily job reports
• Reviewing shop drawings for contract conformance, field dimensions, etc.
• Maintaining jobsite “record set” drawings
• Taking and maintaining jobsite progress photographs
• Obtaining and tracking all necessary city inspections
• Obtaining and terminating all temporary utilities requests
• Attending all jobsite meetings
• Completing all punch list items
• Turning over keys and obtaining a written receipt from owner
• Performing weekly review of job costs
• Maintaining quality control
• Tool and equipment maintenance management
• Building client relations
• Mentoring and training Assistant Superintendents and Assistant Project Managers on their job duties
• Assisting the project team as required
• Completing training requirements as assigned and ensuring Project Team is actively participating in assigned training
• Additional duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have experience supervising numerous commercial projects
• 7 years of relevant experience in commercial construction; 10+ years preferred
• Projects size: +$50M (CMAR)
• Familiarity with the preconstruction process of a Construction Manager at Risk contract
• Preferred previous project experience in a higher ed school system within the State of Texas
• Must have experience with higher education, K-12, and healthcare projects
• Some college experience with drafting, surveying, Total Station, or CAD a plus
• Confine Space Awareness, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred
• OSHA 30 certification
• Willing to Travel
