Job summary

Joeris General Contractors, LLC is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site coordination for large commercial projects in Texas. The role focuses on aligning field teams, subs, and Joeris employees to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include safety program implementation, scheduling, cost tracking, and ensuring quality control. Travel is required, and mentorship of junior staff is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supervising numerous commercial projects.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in commercial construction; 10+ years preferred.
• Projects size: +$50M (CMAR).
• Familiarity with preconstruction in CM at Risk contracts.
• Experience with higher education, K-12, and healthcare projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and drive the preconstruction process with the preconstruction team.
• Daily on-site activities for a single project and coordination of subs.
• Lead jobsite safety programs and reporting.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries.
• Maintain daily job reports and cost centers for employees.
• Review shop drawings for contract conformance and field dimensions.
• Maintain site records, progress photos, and city inspections.
• Mentor and train Assistant Superintendents and Assistant Project Managers.
• Attend jobsite meetings and complete punch lists.

Overview

Reports to: Senior Superintendent or Senior Project Manager

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Normal Working Hours – Field: 7 am to 3:30 pm, or Office: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, plus additional hours as required for completing project duties

Position Objective: Responsible for on-site coordination of all trades and Joeris employees for construction of the project.

Responsibilities

• Manage and drive the preconstruction process along side the preconstruction team
• Assist in the development of proposal interview strategy and execution with the marketing and preconstruction teams.
• Daily jobsite activities for a single project
• Jobsite safety programs and reporting
• Scheduling and coordination of Subcontractors and material deliveries
• Ensuring employee safety and project housekeeping
• Reporting accidents of any type to the Safety Team in a timely manner
• Notifying the Senior Superintendent and Project Manager of labor and material needs
• Keeping daily time records and accurate cost centers for each employee
• Coding materials to proper cost centers
• Creating and maintaining daily job reports
• Reviewing shop drawings for contract conformance, field dimensions, etc.
• Maintaining jobsite “record set” drawings
• Taking and maintaining jobsite progress photographs
• Obtaining and tracking all necessary city inspections
• Obtaining and terminating all temporary utilities requests
• Attending all jobsite meetings
• Completing all punch list items
• Turning over keys and obtaining a written receipt from owner
• Performing weekly review of job costs
• Maintaining quality control
• Tool and equipment maintenance management
• Building client relations
• Mentoring and training Assistant Superintendents and Assistant Project Managers on their job duties
• Assisting the project team as required
• Completing training requirements as assigned and ensuring Project Team is actively participating in assigned training
• Additional duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have experience supervising numerous commercial projects
• 7 years of relevant experience in commercial construction; 10+ years preferred
• Projects size: +$50M (CMAR)
• Familiarity with the preconstruction process of a Construction Manager at Risk contract
• Preferred previous project experience in a higher ed school system within the State of Texas
• Must have experience with higher education, K-12, and healthcare projects
• Some college experience with drafting, surveying, Total Station, or CAD a plus
• Confine Space Awareness, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred
• OSHA 30 certification
• Willing to Travel
