Position Summary

Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor based in Fargo, ND, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for multi-family and commercial construction projects in the Cheyenne, WY market. The Superintendent will manage on‑site activities, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate subcontractors and field crews. The Superintendent will report directly to the VP of Construction.

Compensation Structure

• 90k+/yr depending on experience
• Bonus based on performance
• Company vehicle or fuel reimbursement
• 401k/HSA match

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all on‑site field operations for assigned multi‑family and commercial construction projects.
• Partner with Project Managers to maintain alignment on project goals, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
• Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure efficient progress.
• Enforce job site safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Monitor quality control to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Lead daily/weekly job site meetings with subcontractors and field teams.
• Provide accurate daily logs, progress reports, and field documentation.
• Anticipate and resolve field‑related issues, escalating when necessary in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Support scheduling, logistics, and resource planning to keep projects on track.
• Participate in project closeout, ensuring punch list items are completed and the site is turned over to the client in excellent condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years of field experience in construction, with proven leadership as a Superintendent or Foreman.
• Strong experience in multi‑family construction; additional experience in commercial general contracting required.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors and field crews effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate as a team partner with Project Managers.
• OSHA certification required; other industry safety credentials are a plus.
• Ability to travel within the Cheyenne region as needed.
• Clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Proficient with construction technology tools including Procore (preferred) and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
