Jacobs in New York City is seeking a collaborative Superintendent for our Manhattan project team who thrives when schedules align and construction runs smoothly. You’ll lead the project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against it, compare design drawings for coordination, and manage daily site scheduling to ensure the right materials and people are on site.

Your focus on safety will protect the team across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction field from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years being involved in the management of all phases of construction work on multiple projects.
• Experience managing or monitoring 2+ projects of substantial value.
• Experience interpreting contract documents such as specifications, drawings and shop drawings.
• Experience in new and renovation type construction projects.

Responsibilities

Your impact

We’re looking for a collaborative Superintendent for our project team in Manhattan, NY who thrives when people are in sync and construction projects are running like they should.

In this role you’ll work on projects that will enhance the lives of K-12 students! You’ll take the lead on developing and communicating the project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan, and be able to perform a detailed comparison of the design drawings against each other to ensure coordination between the various project trades. You’ll manage daily scheduling and planning activities at the project site, and ensure the right materials, equipment and people are there to get the job done. Your ability to coordinate onsite work schedules with the client’s staff and manage multiple projects at a time will be critical to your success. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of your team.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction related field from an accredited college or university
• 5+ years being involved in the management of all phases of construction work on multiple projects

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

• Prior experience with K-12 building construction and renovation projects
• Experience with the JOC’s contracts is preferred

The base salary range for this position is $104,000.00 to $130,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
