Job summary

Aquent is sourcing a Superintendent CWI to oversee offshore Workover & Intervention activities, ensuring safe, cost-effective execution of well programs and driving HSE improvements. You will guide field teams, coordinate with rig/site personnel, and make critical decisions to meet project goals.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in leadership roles in offshore workovers, with Well Control Certification and strong communication, risk management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years in a leadership role within Workover & Intervention operations.
  • Strong background in Workover Operations, Well Intervention Operations, and Offshore Operations.
  • Proven ability to make independent operational decisions and lead field teams.
  • Extensive experience supervising well operations and managing operational risk.
  • Well Control Certification.
  • Required offshore operation certifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and client-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise offshore Workover & Intervention activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of well programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field teams, reviewing daily operations and adapting to program changes.
  • Coordinate communications between rig/well-site, internal departments, and external partners for resource deployment.
  • Make critical operational decisions independently and lead field teams in the absence of senior management.
  • Drive HSE process improvement, monitor results, and recommend performance enhancements.
  • Conduct regular HSE and rig audits, including wellsite visits for feedback and compliance.
  • Ensure deliverables meet project requirements and quality standards.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and kickoff meetings with contractors and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Review operational problems, support incident response, and coordinate with contractors.
  • Forecast and plan medium- to long-term resource needs.
  • Monitor progress and provide comprehensive reports.
  • Assist in supplier and equipment evaluations and selection.
  • Control project costs against budget.
  • Coordinate activities with internal/external parties for compliance and efficiency.
  • Attend rig sites for critical wellsite activities and capture lessons learned.

Superintendent CWI (Completions, Workovers, Interventions)
What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and supervise offshore Workover & Intervention activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of well programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for field teams, reviewing daily operations and adapting to program changes.
  • Coordinate communications between the rig/well-site, various internal departments, and external partners to ensure efficient resource deployment.
  • Make critical operational decisions independently, especially in the absence of senior management, and lead field teams effectively.
  • Drive the improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) processes by identifying and implementing action plans, monitoring results, and recommending performance enhancements.
  • Conduct regular HSE and rig audits, including wellsite visits, to ensure continuous feedback and compliance.
  • Manage operations to ensure all deliverables meet planned project requirements and quality standards.
  • Ensure continuous quality process improvement and validate project deliverables for final acceptance.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and kickoff meetings with relevant contractors and customers to establish common understanding and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
  • Review operational problems, support incident response and recovery, and coordinate with key contractors.
  • Forecast and plan medium‑to‑long‑term resource requirements to meet operational program demands.
  • Monitor and assess operational progress, providing comprehensive reports.
  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers, and equipment.
  • Control project costs against the established budget.
  • Coordinate operational activities with various internal and external parties to ensure program compliance, optimal efficiency, and high service quality.
  • Attend rig sites for critical wellsite activities and consolidate lessons learned to foster continuous improvement.
  • Assure proper training and development of Well Site Supervisors and other direct reports.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role within Workover & Intervention operations.
  • Strong background in Workover Operations, Well Intervention Operations, and Offshore Operations.
  • Proven ability to make independent operational decisions and lead field teams effectively.
  • Extensive experience supervising well operations and managing operational risk.
  • Well Control Certification.
  • Required certifications for offshore operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a client‑focused mindset.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience with Plug & Abandonment (P&A) projects.
  • Offshore platform experience.
  • Additional drilling experience.
  • Other offshore safety certifications.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel required for site visits to facilities, offshore rig/platform visits, operational audits, and project support as needed.
  • Estimated travel frequency: approximately 2 trips per month, depending on operational requirements.

NOTE: This role will start as a 6-12 months assignment, but could turn into a full-time / perm role down the road.
