Job summary

RHF's Century Chair Plant 3 in Hickory, NC is seeking a Cut and Sew Superintendent to manage daily operations of the Cutting and Sewing Departments. This full-time, day-shift position reports to plant leadership and requires hands-on leadership and a strong manufacturing background.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a Cut and Sew Superintendent in upholstered furniture, proficiency in Excel, Word, and SAP, and solid Lean Manufacturing knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years as a Cut and Sew Superintendent in an upholstered furniture factory.
• Excel, Word, and SAP skills are required.
• Technical knowledge of cutting and sewing operations.
• Knowledge of Fabric and Leather standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Summary Job Description

The Cut and Sew Superintendent will be responsible for the daily operations of a Cutting and a Sewing Department.

Essential Duties

• Manage all aspects of Cut and Sew departments with the assistance of managers
• Maintain quality control standards, safety standards, and labor efficiencies
• Work closely with the upholstery floor to resolve any quality or production issues
• Identify and address fabric and leather issues working through our Purchasing Department
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull, and bend over the course of 9 hours
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 10 lbs.; on occasion up to 25 lbs.
