Job summary

RHF at Century Chair Plant 3 in Hickory, NC is seeking a sewing operator to fabricate upholstered cushions and related components. You will work with a variety of fabrics, perform top stitching and welt work, and align fabric to production tickets.

The role requires good hand-eye coordination, strict adherence to sewing standards, and the ability to operate multiple sewing machines in a noisy manufacturing environment. Day shift with team collaboration to meet targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sewing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sewing machine to assemble cushions and upholstery.
• Sew cushions, top stitch, saddle stitch and welt as required.
• Adjust machines to accommodate different fabrics and products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Adhere to safety policies and production tickets.
• Collaborate with team to meet or exceed production goals.
• Cross-train in other departments as needed.

This position operates a sewing machine, aligning fabric & creating upholstered cushions for furniture.

Essential Duties

• Able to sew different product including cushions, top stitch, saddle stitch and welt
• Ability to adhere to established sewing standards
• Adjust machines to stitch various types of fabrics
• Good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and a demonstrated attention to detail
• Reads and follows instructions to sew specs and notes provided
• Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner
• Must be able to work with different types of sewing machines
• Must be able to work off production ticket to sew fabric to request
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• Works as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals
• Learn additional functions by cross‑training in other departments, as needed
