Run the jobs people actually see.
A well-established NYC General Contractor (nearly four decades in business, family-run, and still growing) is looking for a Superintendent to take full field ownership of its next wave of projects. The portfolio spans high-profile interiors across commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional work, with some ground-up too, though interiors are the core. This is a 100+ person GC/CM known for precision delivery and long-term repeat clients, with a steady, interior-focused pipeline.
The work is fast-moving, design-led interior construction, the kind of project where finish quality and sequencing actually matter, and where you’ll see your work featured, not buried behind a facade.
The projects you’ll run
- Corporate office fit-outs and full-floor renovations for name-brand tenants
- Retail flagship builds to exacting design and millwork standards
- Hospitality: restaurants, bars, and venues with tight sequencing and high finish demands
- Healthcare and institutional interiors requiring precision coordination
- Renovation and base-build work where interior coordination makes or breaks the schedule
What we’re looking for
- Experience running commercial interior fit-outs, tenant improvements, or high-spec renovations as a Superintendent
- A background with a GC, CM, or developer-side construction team in NYC
- Comfort with fast-track sequencing, MEP coordination, and finish-intensive delivery
- Working knowledge of NYC DOB requirements and inspections (DOB Superintendent License a plus, not a dealbreaker; they’ll support the right person through it)
- A field leader trades want to work for, someone who sets the standard and keeps a job moving without cutting corners
What the role looks like
- Own field operations from mobilization through final turnover
- Drive sequencing, logistics, safety, and quality on fast-moving interior projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel day to day
- Manage MEP rough-in, finishes, and commissioning against tight schedules
- Work directly with PMs, design teams, clients, and building management, so you’re never out of the loop
- Handle permits and DOB compliance without losing momentum
- Lead punch list, closeout, and handover to a consistently high standard
Why this role stands out
- Nearly four decades in NYC, family-run, and still growing: real stability in an industry that doesn’t always offer it
- A broad, steady pipeline across office, retail, hospitality, and healthcare (plus some ground-up), so there’s no downtime between projects
- A genuine project-team model (Account Exec, Estimator, PM, Assistant PM, and Super), so you’re never carrying a job alone
- A real safety and quality culture: weekly toolbox meetings, daily trade reviews, and daily quality checks built into how they work, not bolted on
- Modern field tools (Procore and digital daily logs), so less paperwork and more building
- Genuine on-site autonomy: this contractor trusts its Supers to run their jobs
- A real path into Senior Superintendent or project leadership as the company grows
