A well-established commercial general contractor in San Antonio is looking to add an experienced Commercial Superintendent to its field operations team.

The company has recently secured several new projects across the San Antonio market and expects additional work to move forward in the coming months. They are looking for a well-rounded Superintendent who can lead ground-up commercial projects from early sitework through shell, interior buildout, and final turnover.

The ideal candidate will have experience with tilt-wall or conventional ground-up construction and be comfortable managing projects across a variety of commercial sectors, including office, retail, healthcare, industrial, and other mid-size commercial developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up commercial construction projects
• Manage projects from sitework and foundations through structure, enclosure, interiors, and turnover
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, deliveries, and overall site logistics
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules and assist with overall project schedule management
• Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate daily priorities clearly
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule or coordination issues before they impact the job
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality control, and site organization
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and field changes
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, Assistant Superintendents, owners, and design teams
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors while maintaining accountability for schedule and quality
• Manage punch list, closeout, and final project turnover
• Mentor and provide direction to Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience
• Several years of experience operating as a Superintendent
• Tilt-wall experience strongly preferred
• Experience with conventional steel, concrete, or shell construction is also highly relevant
• Experience taking projects through both shell and interior buildout preferred
• Background in office, retail, healthcare, industrial, or similar commercial construction
• Ability to independently lead a project and manage multiple subcontractors
• Strong scheduling, sequencing, safety, and quality-control experience
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong subcontractor and client relationship skills
• San Antonio construction market experience is a plus
