Job summary

MPI is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects in Columbus, OH. You will ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating subcontractors and site personnel.

You’ll read and interpret drawings, manage logistics, and lead meetings, reporting daily progress and maintaining project documentation. A strong safety mindset and OSHA knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction experience as a Superintendent.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore (preferred).
• Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, site personnel and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with key milestones.
• Review plans, RFIs, submittals, and project docs.
• Conduct regular quality-control and safety inspections.

Description

• Manage and oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, site personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
• Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Conduct regular quality-control and safety inspections.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate site logistics.
• Identify potential project issues and implement solutions to maintain schedule and quality.
• Work closely with Project Managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, and project records.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements on site.

Profile

• Commercial construction experience as a Superintendent.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and managing field operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
