Overview

This Superintendent role is for an experienced Superintendent who can immediately take ownership of large commercial projects. The position offers strong compensation perks and comes with significant growth opportunity as there is an extremely stable pipeline.

A longstanding, general contractor with roots dating back to 1918, this mid-sized firm operates from Columbia (HQ) and Greenville with about 100 employees. Known for exceptional stability, repeat clients, and an average 15-year operations tenure, they deliver retail, light industrial, healthcare, multifamily, and commercial projects across the Carolinas and Tennessee. The culture is family-oriented, collaborative, and built on a century-long foundation of trust and steady work.

Description

• Supervise and manage on-site construction activities to ensure project completion aligns with plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, addressing any deviations promptly.
• Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations on-site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality control and resolve any issues.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports and progress updates.
• Travel to various job sites as required to oversee multiple projects.

Profile

A successful Project Manager should have:

• Proven experience in Walmart, Sam\'s Club or other Big Box ground up or remodel projects.
• Ability to travel to required sites in North and South Carolina, and Tennessee.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs and progress reports.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and quality control.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the construction process
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage on-site teams effectively.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.
