Job summary

Tri-State General Contractors is seeking an experienced field supervisor to lead large commercial retail, tenant improvements, and ground-up construction projects. You will oversee daily site activities, coordinate subs and deliveries, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time completion.

The role requires reading drawings and specs, managing schedules, and guiding a team while maintaining thorough field documentation and collaboration with project managers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction supervision experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Experience managing field operations, schedules, safety, and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for commercial retail, tenant improvement, and ground-up projects.
• Oversee daily jobsite activities ensuring safety and adherence to plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain progress.
• Maintain and drive project schedules, addressing issues impacting timelines.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting work and verifying compliance with standards.
• Lead jobsite safety efforts with regular safety meetings and enforcement.
• Coordinate inspections, owner walkthroughs, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on execution, changes, and cost impacts.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project records, and field documentation.
• Mentor field personnel and promote safety, quality, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily jobsite activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain project progress.
• Maintain and drive project schedules, proactively addressing issues that may impact timelines or productivity.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting work and verifying compliance with project requirements and company standards.
• Lead jobsite safety efforts, conduct regular safety meetings, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate inspections, owner walkthroughs, punch lists, and project closeout activities to achieve successful project completion.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on project execution, change requests, cost impacts, and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project records, and field documentation.
• Mentor and support field personnel while promoting best practices in safety, quality, and project execution.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction supervision experience.
• Proven experience managing field operations, subcontractors, project schedules, safety, and inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Working knowledge of commercial construction practices, including architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools.
• Ability to work evenings, overnight shifts, and extended hours as project needs require.

Travel Requirement

This position requires extensive travel and an on-site presence throughout the duration of assigned projects.
