Job description

The Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education is seeking a superintendent who demonstrates:

• A successful record of district-level educational leadership and the judgment to recognize, preserve, and build upon the people, culture, programs, relationships, and systems that have contributed to CUSD 200's success.
• Strategic, evidence-informed leadership and demonstrated capacity to advance an established vision, using internal and external data, relevant research, and leading practices to inform priorities and desired outcomes while translating Vision 2030 into action and sustaining momentum around academic excellence, continuous improvement, and exceptional student experiences.
• Calm, authentic, and trustworthy leadership, characterized by integrity, humility, empathy, excellent listening and communication skills, openness to feedback, and steadiness when navigating complexity, disagreement, and strongly held perspectives.
• A collaborative and relational leadership style with demonstrated success building productive relationships with Boards of Education, staff, employee associations, students, families, and community partners.
• The ability to attract, develop, empower, and retain exceptional people, building upon a strong organizational culture while establishing clear expectations, delegating effectively, and supporting leadership throughout the organization.
• Strong organizational, financial, and strategic decision-making capacity, including the ability to understand complex systems, align resources with priorities, and make thoughtful and sometimes difficult decisions while maintaining focus on students.
• A visible and engaged leadership presence with a genuine desire to become part of the CUSD 200 community and build meaningful relationships across its schools and communities.
