Job summary

Griffin Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Superintendent for a project in the Portland/Vancouver/Washougal area through end of 2027. The role requires strong leadership to manage safety, schedule, and quality on a commercial construction site with various subs and suppliers.

You will be responsible for reporting daily activity, time and cost codes, and ensuring project records are up to date. Travel may be required; company trucks and equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent.
• Minimum twenty (10) years in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of concrete and framing.
• Knowledge of building processes, practices, and techniques in commercial building construction.
• Intermediate experience with MS Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and monitor all work to ensure safety, conformance to plans, specifications, and schedule.
• Monitor on-site performance of subs, suppliers, labor, and equipment.
• Maintain quality control and safety awareness; enforce job cleanups.
• Help devise a job strategy and a project safety plan.
• Submit electronic reports on daily activity, timecards with hours and cost codes, site photos, purchase orders, and work orders.
• Maintain current project records including shop drawings, as-builts, product data sheets, and phone logs.
• Coordinate and schedule inspections that require permits.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for conducting and monitoring all work to ensure that it is performed safely and in accordance with the plans, specifications, and the schedule
• Monitor the on-site performance of subs, suppliers, labor, and equipment
• Maintain quality control and safety awareness, and enforce job clean-ups
• Help devise a job strategy and a project safety plan
• Submit electronic reports on daily activity, timecards with hours and cost codes assigned, job site photos, as well as purchase orders and work orders
• Maintain a current project record including shop drawings, as-builts, product data sheets, phone logs
• Coordinate and schedule special and permit-required inspections
• Assist in successfully closing out a project in a timely, efficient manner to the satisfaction of the design team all others involved
• Monitor completion of all punch list items
• Understand procedures for obtaining certificates of substantial completion, final occupancy permit, and closing out of all permits
• Expert Ability to read and understand drawings and specs
• Select tools, materials and equipment, and track inventory

Rate of pay will be depending on experience and will be discussed during the interview.
