Job summary

Elsdon Group seeks a seasoned on-site Civil Construction Supervisor to lead earthwork, concrete, and foundations. You will coordinate field crews, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality from planning through closeout.

You will collaborate with Project Managers to align manpower, equipment, and schedules, review drawings, and drive adherence to project specs and environmental requirements. This role demands strong leadership and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site civil construction activities including earthwork, concrete, and foundations.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field crews, subcontractors, and equipment.
• Uphold safety culture and comply with policies and regulations.
• Monitor schedules, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and production targets with Project Managers.
• Review drawings and contract documents for accurate execution.
• Ensure quality and minimize rework through planning and oversight.
• Manage site logistics: materials, equipment, access, staging, and organization.
• Maintain daily reports on labor, equipment, production, safety, and progress.
• Serve as field representative for clients, inspectors, engineers, and teams.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues and conflicts.
• Mentor field personnel and foster accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure environmental compliance and permit conditions.

Job description

• Lead and manage all on-site civil construction activities, including sitework, earthwork, concrete, underground utilities, and structural foundations.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources to achieve project objectives.
• Champion a proactive safety culture by ensuring strict compliance with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable petrochemical industry safety regulations.
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain progress and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to coordinate manpower requirements, equipment utilization, and production targets.
• Review drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is executed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure quality standards are met throughout all phases of construction and minimize rework through effective planning and field oversight.
• Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment coordination, site access, staging areas, and overall jobsite organization.
• Maintain accurate daily reports documenting labor hours, equipment usage, production quantities, safety observations, and project progress.
• Serve as the primary field representative for communication with clients, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues, conflicts, and operational challenges.
• Mentor and develop field personnel while fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, permit conditions, and project-specific procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of civil construction experience, including demonstrated experience in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and practices, including earthwork, site development, concrete construction, underground utilities, and structural foundations.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and execute work from construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage crews, subcontractors, and multiple construction activities simultaneously.
