Job summary

RIMEPRO INC. is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on public works and heavy civil projects. You will coordinate multiple trades, manage schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance from mobilization to closeout.

The ideal candidate has extensive public works or heavy civil experience and can lead field crews while maintaining project milestones and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • 7–15+ years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as Superintendent.
  • Strong public works, heavy civil, municipal, or infrastructure construction experience.
  • Experience with underground utilities, sitework, concrete, paving, water/wastewater.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and utility drawings.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in construction management and field reporting software.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades in active field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations from mobilization through final completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, field crews, vendors, inspectors, and equipment to maintain project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and daily production plans.
  • Coordinate earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, paving, mechanical systems, landscaping, and related scopes as applicable.
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is performed according to project requirements.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily field planning.
  • Monitor manpower, productivity, material deliveries, and equipment utilization.
  • Identify field conflicts and constructability issues before they affect the project schedule.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing agencies, municipalities, utilities, and public agency representatives.
  • Maintain daily reports, photographs, manpower logs, and project documentation.
  • Enforce OSHA requirements, site-specific safety plans, and safe work practices.
  • Partner with Project Managers to monitor schedule performance, change conditions, procurement, and project milestones.
  • Ensure quality-control requirements are maintained throughout construction.
  • Coordinate project shutdowns, tie-ins, utility work, and phased construction when required.
  • Manage punch list completion, final inspections, startup activities, and project closeout.
  • Maintain professional relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.

Position Overview

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day field operations on public works, civil infrastructure, and general engineering construction projects from mobilization through final completion. This role leads field personnel and subcontractors while maintaining project schedules, safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with contract requirements.

Projects may include water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, underground utilities, parks and recreation facilities, athletic fields, site improvements, concrete, paving, earthwork, environmental infrastructure, and other municipal or public agency projects. The ideal candidate has strong public works or heavy civil construction experience and is comfortable coordinating multiple trades in active field environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and utility drawings and specifications.
  • Experience coordinating inspections, testing, and public agency requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced construction environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Proficiency with construction management and field reporting software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, parks, athletic facilities, or municipal site improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and public works requirements.
  • Experience with self-perform construction operations.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is a plus.
