Job summary

Oscar is seeking a capable Construction Supervisor to oversee site work, ensuring adherence to design, budget, and schedule while coordinating on-site functions and safety programs. The role involves supervising crews and contractors, developing procedures, and maintaining productivity in heavy civil earthwork projects.

The position requires four+ years in heavy civil earthwork construction management or craft supervision, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years Heavy Civil Earthwork construction management and/or craft supervision experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of earthmoving, dewatering, underground utilities, road and parking lot construction & surveying.

Responsibilities

• Supervise specific construction efforts to ensure project aligns with design, budget and schedule.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and on-site administration.
• Supervise craft employees and/or contractors as required by the contract.
• Assist Project Superintendents in developing project procedures and working documents.
• Ensure safety program requirements are followed and corrective actions implemented.
• Manage productivity, materials and equipment utilization, and contractual performance.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the Project Superintendent.

Job description

• Supervise specific construction efforts to ensure project is in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
• Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
• Assist Project Superintendents in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
• Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
• Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
• Perform additional assignments per Project Superintendent's direction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage 1 to 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 1 to 7 employees in the field operations.

Requirements:

Overall knowledge and experience in site work construction such as earthmoving, dewatering, underground utility construction, road, and parking lot construction & surveying. Willingness to travel out of town or state.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of four years Heavy Civil Earthwork construction management and/or craft supervision experience. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, cost control schedules and safety required. Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
