Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field execution on construction projects, directing project teams, safety, profitability, and quality control.

You will oversee planning, scheduling, and resource needs while ensuring compliance with SOPs and safety policies. The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects, including SCIF-type facilities on select assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • 5+ years in a construction site leadership role overseeing complex projects.
  • Experience with SCIF construction or similar sensitive facilities for certain projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety, budgets, schedules, and quality control.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and plans.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.

Job Description The Superintendent role holds a key leadership position responsible for the overall execution and management of project-level field execution, safety, profitability, project delivery, and quality control plan execution for assigned project(s). This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects by providing direction, coordination, and support to the project team. Construction expertise is instrumental in maintaining a safe work environment, optimizing project profitability, and delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
Field Core Process Execution
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to project teams to ensure efficient and effective field execution of construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement project execution plans, including sequencing, scheduling, and resource needs.
  • Monitor and assess project progress, identifying potential issues or delays, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Adhere to all SOPs within the field execution core process.
Safety Core Process Execution
  • Implement and enforce safety programs and protocols to maintain a safe working environment on project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Provide safety insight and promote a safety-conscious culture among project teams and trade partners.
Profit & Loss and Project Delivery
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for value-added components and cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Analyze project schedules, resource utilization, and productivity to optimize project delivery and meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Assess project risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential financial and operational challenges.
Labor / Production Reporting
  • Review labor reports and production metrics including progress, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to project stakeholders to optimize labor efficiency and performance.
  • Assist in forecasting labor needs and making recommendations for resource allocation.
Quality Control Plan Execution
  • Establish and enforce a comprehensive quality control plan to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Implement quality control processes, inspections, and testing procedures to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and document quality performance, including tracking quality metrics and conducting regular quality audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in a construction site leadership role with a successful track record of overseeing complex construction projects.
  • Experience with Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) construction or similar classified facility types, required for specific project assignments.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on field execution.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, protocols, and best practices in the construction industry.
  • Excellent financial acumen and ability to analyze project budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Proficient in project scheduling software and construction management tools and programs.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams, trade partners, and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Quality-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to navigate company software systems including Procore, Vista, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements

Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including the ability to work holidays, evenings, or weekends as necessary.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Sitting, standing, bending, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around construction sites where temperatures and noise levels can fluctuate, and the ability to see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Includes climbing ladders and accessing elevated work areas.
