Job summary

B&S Site Development is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple active job sites in Virginia. You will lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, review plans, and ensure projects meet safety, budget, and schedule targets.

The role requires strong leadership, a solid background in heavy civil construction, and excellent communication skills to interact with project managers, clients, and field personnel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting civil plans and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of grading, utility installation, stormwater management, and paving.
• Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to lead and motivate field personnel effectively.
• Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Competency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, project management software).
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 30 Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work is performed according to design, budget, schedule, and quality standards.

• Lead and mentor foremen and field crews to promote productivity and accountability.
• Manage inspections, testing, and documentation required by municipalities or clients.
• Identify potential risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records including daily reports, timecards, and material logs.

Role Description

Superintendents are responsible for managing the field operations across multiple active job sites.
