Job description

Superintendent

McKinley Homes US, LLC., a land developer and builder based in Peachtree Corners, Metro Atlanta GA, specializes in real‑estate development and vertical construction. McKinley is developing and building various commercial and residential communities including townhomes, single‑family subdivisions, office buildings, apartment complexes, hotels, and multi‑family high rises. The Multifamily Division is currently working on projects focused on the southeast states and is looking for a Superintendent to head up one of these projects.

Responsibilities

After meeting with the Project Manager and reviewing plans and specifications, the Superintendent will plan and coordinate arrangements to start the project and assume full responsibility for all operations at the job site. This includes:

  • Securing a job site office, dry storage facilities, and sanitary facilities including water, electric, and internet service.
  • Displaying a bulletin board near the project office for posting required notices, permits, labor department bulletins, and McKinley special notices.
  • Placing temporary project and building signage in an obvious, professional location; the Project Manager confirms sign location.
  • Obtaining a list of cost codes specific to the job.
  • Conveying McKinley standards of workmanship to all subcontractors and ensuring each has a plan of work.
  • Managing the project schedule and communicating any changes to all affected parties.
  • Submitting daily logs, pictures, and other necessary documentation in Procore.
  • Ensuring all crews adhere to McKinley safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in all pre‑job planning, strategy sessions, and pre‑construction meetings.
  • Reviewing project progress, cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion.
  • Holding subcontractors accountable for submittals and scope of work.
  • Developing agenda for and running subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Scheduling inspections as required per jurisdiction.
  • Confirming needs for a temporary certificate of occupancy and a final certificate of occupancy.
  • Working with the support team (VP, Director, Project Coordinator, Accountant).
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university or equivalent field experience as a Superintendent.
  • 10+ years of related experience in multifamily construction.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (Procore preferred; Prolog or similar also acceptable).
  • Must be able to travel ≥50% of the time.
  • CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30 preferred.

Work Environment

The employee regularly works on‑site at the construction work site where they are exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather, and risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
