Build People, partnering with a well-established mid-size General Contractor in Miami, seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on commercial interior projects, from mobilization to turnover.

You will coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, maintain schedules, and deliver high-quality interiors across tenant improvements and renovations, with leadership responsibilities and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience including superintendent or assistant superintendent experience.
• Experience delivering commercial interiors, tenant improvements, or renovations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong scheduling, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities for commercial interior projects and tenant improvements.

Build People is partnering with a well-established, mid-size General Contractor in Miami to recruit an experienced Superintendent to join their growing team.

Our client has a strong presence in the South Florida construction market and delivers a range of commercial interior projects, including tenant improvements, office build-outs, renovations, and high-quality interior fit-outs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Superintendent who takes pride in delivering quality interiors, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining tight schedules, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.

The Role

As Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations across commercial interior construction projects, overseeing work from initial mobilization through final punch-out and turnover.

Working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the construction schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities for commercial interior projects and tenant improvements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to maintain progress and productivity.
• Manage construction sequencing, daily activities, and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate framing, drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, millwork, doors, and finish installations.
• Oversee MEP rough-ins, inspections, installations, and final coordination.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact the project schedule.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control, and jobsite safety.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate activities with the Project Manager.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates, challenges, and schedule risks.
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, final completion, and client turnover.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite throughout construction.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, including experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Proven experience delivering commercial interiors, ground up, tenant improvements, or renovation projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and finishing trades.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors in fast-paced construction environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong scheduling, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• A hands-on approach with a strong attention to detail.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software is a plus.
