Engtal, a leading heavy civil contractor in Greater Boston, seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on major infrastructure projects across Massachusetts and New England.

You will oversee self-perform crews and subcontractors, coordinate sequencing and logistics, maintain safety, quality, and productivity, and work with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget, with long-term advancement opportunities within a strong backlog.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of field construction experience in heavy civil construction.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or General Foreman.
• Proven experience managing complex civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• A leading heavy civil contractor is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its Greater Boston field team.
• The company has a strong backlog of complex infrastructure projects throughout Massachusetts and New England, with work spanning bridges, highways, transit, utilities, marine construction, and other large-scale public infrastructure.
• This is an opportunity to join an established contractor with a long‑term pipeline of local work, strong field resources, and the ability to take on some of the region's most complex civil projects.

The Role:

• The Superintendent will be responsible for leading day‑to‑day field operations on major heavy civil projects throughout Greater Boston.
• You'll oversee self‑perform crews and subcontractors, coordinate project sequencing and logistics, and work closely with project management to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of field construction experience within heavy civil construction.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or General Foreman.
• Proven experience managing complex civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means, methods, and sequencing.
• Experience coordinating self‑perform crews and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
