Job summary

GCON Management Company LLC is seeking a Superintendent with extensive experience leading high-tech and/or commercial ground-up construction projects. The role is onsite in Hillsboro, OR, and requires strong on-site leadership, safety stewardship, and collaboration with trade partners and stakeholders to deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of relevant site management experience on ground up commercial and/or high tech or mission critical projects.
• Proficient with P6 to build project schedules.
• Proficient with Procore and/or CMIC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building of complex, high-tech projects.
• Contribute to preconstruction phase, buyout, logistics, and scheduling.
• Communicate project plan’s success factors and implementation strategies.
• Reconcile WIP with Trade Contractors’ SOV and submit timely payment requisitions.
• Demonstrate understanding of the Profit Plan and project financial forecast.
• Conduct jobsite lean and Last Planner System boot camps.
• Establish a weekly cadence of LPS and continuous improvement with staff and trade partners.
• Perform constructability reviews and collaborate on a Quality Control program.
• Create and assess Weekly Work Plan and Pre-Task Plan for improvement opportunities.
• Enforce EH&S policies, promote Injury Free Environments, and identify safety training needs.
• Review safety performance and engage with trade partners on leading/lagging indicators.
• Foster communication with project team members including client and designers.

GCON is looking for a Superintendent with tenure running high-tech or commercial construction projects. As superintendent, you will serve as an onsite point person/customer liaison and responsible person for every project you are assigned to. You will oversee all day-to-day operations and ensure safety on the job site, while implementing continuous improvement practices to achieve excellence in all project aspects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee building of complex, high tech projects .
• Contribute to the preconstruction phase, buyout, logistics, and scheduling.
• Communicate the project plan’s success factors and implementation strategies.
• Reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) with Trade contractors’ Schedule of Values and submit timely and accurate payment requisitions.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Profit Plan (PP) and project financial forecast.
• Conduct jobsite lean and Last Planner System (LPS) boot camps.
• Establish and maintain a weekly cadence of LPS and continuous improvement activities between staff and trade partners.
• Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to provide an effective Quality Control (QC) program.
• Create and assess Weekly Work Plan (WWP) and Pre-Task Plan (PTP) for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Execute Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures, implement Injury Free Environments, and identify safety training needs for the team.
• Review overall safety performance and data, discuss with trade partners, and understand leading and lagging safety indicators.
• Foster and encourage communication with all project team members (inclusive of GCON, A/E & Owner).
• Ensure project schedules are maintained and/or improved.
• Hold weekly subcontractor/foreman meetings to review schedule, coordination, safety, housekeeping, etc.
• Ensure that the jobsite is clean, organized and safe. Must have a presence on site during any activity.
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with client, design professionals, and subcontractors.
• Facilitate High Tech processes and procedures.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 7-10+ years of relevant site management experience on ground up commercial and/or high tech or mission critical projects.
• Utilize P6 to build project schedules.
• Proficient with Procore and/or CMIC.

Physical Requirements:

• Legs: Must be able to climb stairs
• Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use
• Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination
• Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment
• Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
• Lift/Carry: Up to 40lbs.
• Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling
