Job summary

Ferrovial Construction US, LLC is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on major construction projects. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage field personnel, and ensure work aligns with plans, schedules, and safety standards.

The role requires extensive experience in heavy civil and transportation projects, with strong leadership and communication skills to drive on-site performance and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) or more years of construction field supervision experience, preferably in heavy civil, transportation, infrastructure, or related construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, safety practices, quality standards, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, schedules, and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field teams, coordinate subcontractors, and resolve issues in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise day-to-day field operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, craft labor, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity.
  • Review plans, specifications, schedules, and work scopes to understand project requirements and communicate expectations to field teams.
  • Monitor work progress, identify potential conflicts or delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Enforce company safety policies, project-specific safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with project documents and standards.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, site logistics, and daily manpower needs.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, including manpower, equipment, work completed, weather conditions, delays, and safety observations.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, owners, inspectors, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project status and field conditions.
  • Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, schedule updates, and coordination discussions.

Superintendent

Pay Range: Commensurate with Industry Experience

Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday and additional days as needed

Overview: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on construction projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and company procedures. This role coordinates subcontractors, field personnel, materials, equipment, and inspections while serving as a key point of communication between project management, owners, inspectors, and field teams.

Regular Job Duties

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, craft labor, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity.

Job Requirements
  • Ten (10) or more years of construction field supervision experience, preferably in heavy civil, transportation, infrastructure, or related construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, safety practices, quality standards, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, schedules, and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field teams, coordinate subcontractors, and resolve issues in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and public entities.
  • Valid driver license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred or ability to obtain as required by the project.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and physically maneuver around active construction sites, including walking, standing, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
