Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead ground-up retail, restaurant, and other commercial projects throughout the Columbus region.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of commercial construction leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to independently manage a ground-up project from sitework through closeout.

The company self-performs excavation and utilities, concrete, and carpentry, giving its Superintendents greater control over project schedules, quality, and field execution.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all daily jobsite operations from mobilization through final completion and closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules while driving the overall project schedule.
- Plan trade sequencing, manpower requirements, material deliveries, equipment needs, and site logistics.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project schedules before work is performed.
- Identify drawing conflicts, constructability concerns, and potential schedule issues, and coordinate solutions with the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photographs, manpower records, delivery documentation, and other required field records.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate expectations regarding schedule, safety, quality, and site conditions.
- Coordinate required inspections, testing, permits, and interactions with local authorities having jurisdiction.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, building codes, and company quality standards.
- Track field changes, time-and-material work, delays, and unforeseen conditions, and communicate them promptly to the Project Manager.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve field issues, control costs, and keep owners and project stakeholders informed.
- Develop and manage punch lists, coordinate corrective work, and drive projects through final inspection and turnover.
- Build productive working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Travel to active projects within the company’s regional operating area.
