The Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of YMCA facilities. This position provides hands-on maintenance support while overseeing the daily work of the Building Engineer and three Facilities Operations Technicians.

The Superintendent ensures that building systems, equipment, grounds, and facilities are properly maintained and that maintenance needs are addressed in a timely and effective manner. The position coordinates preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, vendor services, and other facility-related activities while supporting a safe and welcoming environment for YMCA members, staff, residents, program participants, and visitors.

This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, property maintenance, or a related field required.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of general building maintenance and repair practices.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other common building systems.
• Ability to identify maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple maintenance needs and assignments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, vendors, contractors, members, residents, and program participants.
• Ability to respond appropriately to urgent and emergency facility situations.
