Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Supervisor Pharmacist to lead daily pharmacy operations across Smith Clinic, Casa De Amigos, and LBJ. The role supervises staff, ensures safe, compliant workflows, and upholds regulatory standards in a multi-site setting.

The ideal candidate will have a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Texas licensure, ACLS/BLS as required, and at least two years of progressive pharmacy experience, with outpatient and inpatient exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility; must obtain within 90 days of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for inpatient positions; preferred for outpatient roles
• IV Sterile Certification required for inpatient areas and Fondren Pharmacy
• Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification preferred

This position supports optimal patient care through collaborative leadership, formulary adherence, clinical intervention oversight, staff education, and continuous professional development. The Supervisor Pharmacist plays a key role in fostering a culture of excellence in medication management across multiple Harris Health locations.

Requirements

  • Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility for Texas licensure; must obtain within 90 days of employment
  
  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of employment
  
  
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for inpatient positions prior to or within 6 months of employment; preferred for outpatient roles
  
  
  • IV Sterile Certification required for all inpatient areas and Fondren Pharmacy
  
  
  • Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification preferred

  • Outpatient/Retail experience required for ACS positions
