Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform moderate and high complexity tests across lab sections, validate results, and maintain quality control. The role supports Harris County's public healthcare network with a focus on accurate reporting and instrument maintenance.

Minimum requirement is an associate degree in medical technology or related science; licensure as MLT or MLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Related Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics).
• Medical Lab Technician (Or) Medical Laboratory Science (Preferred)
• No work experience is required in clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and selected high complexity tests on clinical laboratory specimens in various laboratory sections.
• Validates and reports results of tests performed.
• Performs and documents Quality Control.
• Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures.
• Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies.
• Participates in continuing education.
