Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois is seeking dependable, energetic Morning Program Youth Development Assistants to supervise and engage youth before school. This part-time role requires reporting by 6:15 AM, with programs running from 6:15 AM to 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM at various locations.

You will lead activities, support positive behavior, and help youth transition into the school day while upholding safety and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with children or youth preferred but not required.
• Must report to work by 6:15 AM, Monday–Friday.
• Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, responsible, able to work independently and in a team.
• Must complete background checks, screenings, and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of youth at all times and maintain a safe, positive program environment.
• Welcome members and families as they arrive for morning programming.
• Lead and participate in age-appropriate activities and structured programming.
• Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a positive role model.
• Encourage participation, teamwork, respect, responsibility, and positive behavior.
• Maintain staff-to-member supervision and attend to members throughout the program.
• Assist with program setup, organization, and cleanup.
• Facilitate smooth transitions from Morning Program to the school day.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, school personnel, supervisors, and staff.
• Report safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
• Follow all club policies and site requirements.
