Job summary

Riverchase Dermatology in Clearwater, FL is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers during patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures. This full-time position requires compassionate care, strong organization, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dermatology practice.

Primary duties include preparing patients, assisting with examinations and procedures, sterilizing instruments, maintaining EMR notes, and coordinating prescriptions and calls.

Qualifications

• MA certification or CST/LPN credentials preferred.
• Hands-on clinical experience in a medical setting.
• Dermatology or surgical exposure preferred but training available.

Responsibilities

• Assisting providers in delivering quality patient care.
• Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Providing side-by-side assistance during surgical procedures.
• Sterilizing instruments and maintaining clean, organized exam rooms.
• Reviewing medical history, documenting accurately in EMR, and maintaining notes.
• Obtaining necessary patient consents and coordinating prescriptions.

Who are we looking for a Medical Assistant?

The ideal Medical Assistantcandidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. The MA is responsible for assisting the Provider with patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures.

Medical AssistantPrimary Duties:

• Assisting providers in providing quality care to patients.
• Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
• Assist with sterilizing instruments and ensuring cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.
• Reviewing medical history, maintaining patient records and documentation accurately and confidentially and maintaining notes in EMR system.
• Obtaining appropriate consents when necessary.
• Calling in prescriptions, performing patient call backs and handling administrative duties when necessary.

Medical Assistant Skills and Qualities:

• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
• Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)
• Able to travel between locations

Experience and Education:

• Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting, Will train the right candidate
• Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, not required
