Job summary

The Salvation Army Manchester Citadel in Manchester, CT is seeking a part-time Nursery Attendant to care for infants through five-year-olds during Sunday morning meetings. The role focuses on safety, cleanliness, and nurturing care in a supervised setting.

You will diaper, supervise activities, coordinate volunteers, greet families, and report concerns to the supervisor. Must be 18+, able to lift 40 pounds, and able to communicate clearly; CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare and enjoying working with children.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and supervisors.
• Must pass a satisfactory background check and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Diaper change and assist with bathroom needs.
• Constantly monitor and maintain the nursery's safety and cleanliness.
• Coordinate activities for the children in the nursery.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment for children aged from infants to five years old.
• Do not use mobile devices during work hours for personal matters.
• Enlist and assist in training volunteers for the nursery.
• Follow all health and safety precautions.
• Greet children and their parents at the door as they arrive, whenever possible.
• Notify the supervisor of any needs or concerns.
• Participate in regular planning.
• Prepare and serve snacks and inventory supplies.
• Provide at least one week's advanced notice of substitution needs to the supervisor.
• Provide parents with contact information.
• Report to work on time.
• Work cooperatively with parents and Corps staff.
