Job summary

Chicagopresbytery in Western Springs is seeking a Nursery Attendant responsible for child care during worship services for infants and toddlers, ensuring their needs are met in a safe and engaging environment.

The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years old, have experience with young children, and possess or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification. This role may also include additional child care activities outside of regular Sunday services.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with infants and toddlers up to 5 years old required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
• Safe Space training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care for young children during church services.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding their child's activities.
• Ensure toys are tidied and the room is orderly after sessions.
• Available to provide care outside of Sunday mornings if needed.

Nursery Attendant – Presbyterian Church of Western Springs – Western Springs

Job Summary: The Nursery Attendant is responsible for providing child care during church worship service and fellowship/Sunday School for up to 10 infants and toddlers with another attendant or volunteer. The Attendant will also assist with school‑age students during Sunday School if no infants or toddlers are present. With advanced notice the Attendant may be asked periodically to provide care for a wider range of ages during other church functions outside of Sunday mornings.

Responsibilities:

• Provide appropriate care for a group of young children during Sunday morning services, ensuring their safety, providing for their needs and fostering an interactive and engaging environment.
• Maintain appropriate lines of communication with the parents concerning their child’s activities, needs and behavior.
• Assure that all toys are put away and that the room is orderly upon completion of the child care session.
• When possible, be available (with reasonable prior notification) to provide child care at times other than Sunday morning.

Education and Experience Required:

• 18 years of age or older
• Experience working with children, infants – up to 5 years old
• CPR and First Aid certification (certified or willing to obtain)
• Safe Space training will be required and provided
