Job summary

Frederick Community College is seeking an Adjunct, Kids on Campus Summer Instructor for 2027 to deliver non-credit youth programs through the CEWD department. Instructors will teach in half- or full-day blocks during mid-June to mid-August, with sessions from 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00, or 9:00-4:00 including a lunch break.

Areas include science, tech, engineering, arts, languages, business, and health. Responsibilities include creating engaging lesson plans, developing activities, and communicating

Qualifications

• Previous teaching or student teaching experience with youth ages 6-16.
• Basic computer skills necessary for utilizing technology in classroom.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect cultural diversity in a multicultural workplace.

Responsibilities

• Plan detailed, relevant, creative lesson plans to engage students.
• Provide applicable and relevant classroom exercises and activities.
• Provide course descriptions, learning objectives and supply needs to the Program Manager.
• Complete orientation process for adjunct faculty, including Title IX and College policies.
• Submit and update personnel forms required for employment.
• Submit class evaluations and other documents as directed by program staff.
• Cultivate open-minded inquiry.
• Promote cooperation and mutual respect among students.
