Job summary

The Anchorage School District is seeking a Temporary Casual Laborer for Vehicle Maintenance to assist with preventative maintenance of ASD vehicles and equipment. Duties include oil changes, lubrication, and general upkeep of fleet vehicles and small equipment in a shop environment.

Ideal candidates will have basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfort working outdoors.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to work in a shop and outdoor environment with exposure to vehicle fluids, fumes, and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, lubrication, and fluid checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Assists with inspection and basic service of fleet vehicles and small engine equipment.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and work areas.
• Operates basic hand and shop tools in accordance with safety procedures.
• Works within established safety guidelines and follows proper handling procedures for tools and materials.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
