Job summary

VELCO’s AGILE Internship Program offers a 10-week summer position in Rutland, VT for undergrad and grad students studying forestry, environmental science, or GIS. You will support field and analytical activities to identify and manage vegetation near transmission lines.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with GIS, data analysis, and fieldwork, while contributing to grid reliability and Vermont’s energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in forestry, natural resources, environmental science, arboriculture, GIS, or related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Vegetation inventory and field assessment.
• Treatment polygon and landowner data management.
• CCAA plot activities and signoff tasks.
