Job summary

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff in implementing a transportation planning program for a small South Dakota community (<2,000 population).
• Work on policy research, GIS, planning, and report generation in the office.
• On-site work with the community including site analysis, data gathering, and public and stakeholder meetings.
• Some overnight travel will be required; typically five 8-hour days per week.
