Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern in Tallahassee, FL for the summer of 2027. You will support a range of transportation projects for municipalities and public agencies, gaining real-world engineering experience and building technical skills.

The role involves design and analysis of infrastructure, drafting reports, performing calculations, and assisting with field data collection under close supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Bentley or Autodesk software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and GIS preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Team oriented, able to work with supervision and adapt to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roadways, drainage, signing, and pavement markings.
• Prepare engineering drawings, reports, memoranda, and specifications.
• Perform transportation design calculations, modeling, and quantity take-offs.
• Participate in field investigations, tests, measurements, and site inspections; collect data.
• Contact vendors for budget quotes and assist in developing cost estimates.
• Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and project scheduling efforts.
• Review design drawings for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Utilize engineering software and MS Office tools to support tasks.
• Take on additional responsibilities to help the team achieve goals.
