Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist in the design, analysis, and documentation of transportation infrastructure while gaining exposure to real-world civil engineering work.

You will work under close supervision with a focus on building technical skills, reading plans, performing calculations, and supporting ongoing municipal projects. This internship emphasizes learning and collaboration within a professional team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with Bentley or Autodesk software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, GIS).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roadways and drainage.
• Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Conduct transportation design, modeling, and engineering calculations.
• Participate in field investigations, data collection, and site inspections.
• Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and assist in cost estimates.
• Support permitting, regulatory documentation, and project scheduling.
• Review design drawings for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Utilize engineering software and Office tools to support tasks.
• Assume additional responsibilities to support the team and goals.
