Job summary

SMS group Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Systems Engineering Co-Op / Summer Intern. You will work alongside experienced engineers on Level-2 Automation systems in modern steel and metals facilities, gaining hands-on exposure to software development, testing, data analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a STEM field.
Completed at least two years of university coursework before start.
Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on-site for the duration.

Responsibilities

Assist with development and testing of software applications using approved engineering tools and languages.
Support web-based and desktop user-interface development activities.
Assist with database development, reporting, and data-management activities.
Support integration and testing of interfaces between automation systems.
Participate in software verification and troubleshooting activities.
Explore AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
