Job summary

SMS group is offering a Systems Engineering Co-Op / Internship Program in Pittsburgh to provide hands-on experience in developing, testing, and supporting Level-2 Automation Systems used in modern steel and metals production facilities.

You’ll work with experienced engineers on software development, data analysis, and documentation, with exposure to industrial automation architectures and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in a STEM field.
• Completion of at least two years of university coursework before the start of the assignment.
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on-site for the duration of the co-op or internship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and testing of software applications and interfaces.
• Support data analysis, databases, and reporting tasks.
• Help with integration testing, FAT preparation, and documentation.

Education
